A Drill Team Prayer

Dear Angels-of-Teamwork, build a circle around us,
Give wings to our hearts, as we work and we ride,
Guide us to recall why we come here to do this-
The friendships, the horses, the challenge, and pride.

Sweet Angels-of-Harmony, help us always remember
That small snits and squabbles bring all of us down.
When our egos get bruised, help us hold tongue and temper,
Help us lighten-up and grin, and not sulk or frown.

Bright Angels-of-Friendship, keep our hearts and minds open,
Help us find in each-other kindred spirits and souls;
Our differences are less than what we share in common-
Our love of the Sport, our dreams and our goals.

Great Lord of the Angels, You know we're just human,
We know we're not perfect; help us be kind and fair.
Send Your Legions of Angels to hold us together;
When we gather, remind us that You, too, are there.

For we are a Team, and we all need each other-
That's what makes it Magic, and what makes it so hard...
Let us all ride United, 'neath the Flag of our Country,
Proud, safe, and smiling with our Angels on-guard.
